Trinity Christian School

Educating for Life

There are many ways for you to benefit from Trinity, but you can also make a difference and help make us stronger.

A common way of giving to the School is with an outright gift of cash, securities, real estate or personal property. These gifts are tax deductible and offer the distinct advantage of being immediately available to assist the School and its programs.

Planned or deferred gifts provide special opportunities to enhance educational excellence at the School.  This can be accomplished by including the Trinity Christian School in your financial and estate plans.  In addition to tax advantages, making a deferred gift allows you to support the School without jeopardizing current or future income.

Examples of Planned Gifts

· Bequests and Wills

· Charitable Trusts and Gift Annuities

· Life Insurance

· Retirement Plans

Note:  Planned Gifts may be preferable from an estate, financial, and tax planning perspective. The tax treatment of these gifts varies, so consult your tax or financial adviser.

If you or your spouse work for a company that makes matching gifts, your gift to our school could be doubled or even tripled!  Please contact the personnel office within your company to find out if your gifts can be matched.

In-Kind donations are another way that the business community as well as individuals can directly support the school.  In-kind donations of goods and services can help the school reduce its operational expenses.  Please contact us if you have goods or service you would like to donate.

You may make a commitment of support payable over a period of several months or years. A pledge demonstrates your intention to make a gift to the School and may allow you to give more generously over a period of time than would be possible through a single contribution.

Ways You Can Help Make A Difference

The Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) was established by the West Virginia Legislature to increase charitable giving to local nonprofit organizations. The program allows 501(c)3 designated charitable organizations to apply for tax credit vouchers. These organizations distribute the vouchers to contributing businesses and individuals. By donating to approved NIP organizations, contributors can support their communities and earn credits to reduce certain West Virginia taxes.

Businesses and individuals that contribute to NIP-approved organizations are eligible to receive up to 50 percent of the contributed amount in the form of state tax credits. Donors may use the credits to reduce liability for the Corporate Net Income Tax, the Business Franchise tax or the Personal Income Tax. Contributions can be in the form of cash, personal property, real estate, stock, and in-kind professional services (limitations apply).  The minimum donation is $500.

As Christians we all know the power of prayer and we ask that you keep the students, faculty, and administration in your prayers. God has been faithful to guide us and provide for us and He will continue to do so if we keep our focus on Him!

The Corporation for National and Community Service continues a long tradition of citizen involvement and supports President Bush's call to service by encouraging students to improve their communities through service. One initiative that encourages these habits is the Presidential Freedom Scholarship program.  Since 1997, over 37,000 students from every state in the nation, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and Department of Defense overseas schools have been recognized. Each high school in the country may select up to two students - juniors or seniors - to receive a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of outstanding leadership in service to their community. With funds appropriated by Congress, the Corporation for National and Community Service provides $500 for each scholarship, which must be matched with at least $500 secured by the participating school from a community or faith-based organization, a business, civic group or other local funding source.
