A Week of Celebrations
Posted on February 19, 2026
From academics to the arts to athletics, it’s been a jam-packed week of celebrating our students and their accomplishments. The list is long, so we’ll get right to it!
- Eighth-grader and artist Mackenzie Blizzard was selected as a Regional Finalist for the “I Voted” Sticker Contest. (Check out her interview on WBOY!) She is now competing in the state contest and would love your support. You can vote for Makenzie’s design here. You are allowed one vote per email address from now until voting closes on February 27 at 4:30 PM. Thanks in advance for supporting Mackenzie!
- Last weekend, Mattea Abersold represented Trinity Christian in the WVU Honors Band. She was one of 260 high school students from 5 states who were selected. Mattea was a member of the blue band as the second chair for Tenor Saxophone. What an achievement!
- Congratulations to Director Colton Daft and the Drama Theater Troupe, who came home with multiple awards when they performed “Murder, Mayhem, and the Fairchild Hotel” at the regional competition! Here are the winners: Sidney Deal: Outstanding Stage Management, Advancement to States; Bri Blake and Tori O’Connor – All-Festival Cast; and Janie O’Connor – Best Supporting Performer. Additionally, the troupe advanced to states when they earned the distinction of being one of the top two performances overall! You can catch the show, a murder mystery comedy set in a 1920’s Chicago hotel, tonight or tomorrow at 7:30 PM in the TCS Chapel. Admission is by donation at the door.
- A group of students participated in Math Field Day this week. We want to congratulate Jakub Galik, Parker Hopkins, Austin Porta, Katie Kincaid, Evan Knight, John Hanna, Logan Adams, Audrey Knight, Bethany Wan, Lucy Oliver, Bodie Thomas, and Elam Hilty for being selected to compete.
In athletics, there were cheers (and some tears) when we celebrated our eighth-grade and senior boys basketball players, as well as our high school cheerleaders, during back-to-back games on Monday and Tuesday.
All these achievements represent hours of hard work behind the scenes, and we are very proud of our students’ dedication and commitment to their academics, artistic expressions, and sports. It’s a great time to be a Warrior!
