- School Aftercare Employee – Part-time – This position reports to the Director of the Aftercare Program and the Elementary Principal. The Aftercare Employee is responsible for developing age-appropriate activities, organizing materials, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the program. Aftercare Employees must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged. The Aftercare Employee must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children and resolve parental concerns.Experience with Early Childhood/School Age Children preferred. Degree and/or training in Early Childhood Education, Elementary, or Secondary Education preferred. Upon hire, Aftercare Employees will be trained in Pediatric CPR/First Aid, Child Abuse and Neglect, and Safe Food Handling.
