Bravo!

Between The Little Mermaid Jr., fantastic sports performances, and showing appreciation for our teachers, we’ve had many occasions for applause in the last week.
Audiences were delighted with The Little Mermaid Jr. The performers amazed us with their singing, dancing, acting, and comedic timing, while the stage crew seamlessly executed set changes to make for a marvelous experience. We say, “Bravo!” to Director Colton Daft, his assistants, and the cast and crew. It’s great to have our theatre program back!
We also want to applaud our spring athletes and coaches for doing well despite the challenging weather conditions.
Our girls’ tennis team made school history as the first to qualify for the State Tennis Tournament, which takes place next week. Catharine Street also qualified in singles. Congratulations!
Our high school track athletes performed well at the OVAC Championship, with several coming home as champions and named 1st team all-conference. Cora Friend, Allie Ayers, Lauren Williams, and Kate Williams won the 4x800m relay. Simon Travis won the 110m hurdles. And Chase Livengood won the long jump. Mason Dixon champions for middle school track include Ben Hancox in the 800m, Channing Baldwin in the 1600m, Sebastian Roderick in the 3200m, and the team of Channing Baldwin, Ben Hancox, Sebastian Roderick, and Hunter Hart for the 4x800m. While we only listed first-place winners here, our track athletes had many others placed and recorded personal best finishes. We’re proud of you all!
Our softball team advanced to the sectional final this Saturday, May 10, with the location yet to be determined.
Last, but certainly not least, our parents and Staff Encouragement Committee have gone out of their way to show their love and respect for our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week with delicious food and other treats. Our teachers feel spoiled in the best kind of way! Thanks for all the kindness you’ve shown to the teachers and staff this week and throughout the year.
