“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” ~ John 15:5.
If you stopped one of our seniors in the hall today, there is a good chance they could tell you how much time is left in the school year, maybe down to the hour. Since these are the final days of the school year, we want to maximize the time we have left with our students.
And we are! There are fieldtrips and projects, performances and assemblies. Let’s not forget finals, AP exams, step-up days, and graduation. It’s an exciting time of year, but the busyness can be overwhelming, too.
So, how do we manage the hectic schedules and still savor the special moments that the month of May offers us? Abiding in Him is the key.
The lyrics to Abide, a school favorite this year, say it so well:
For my waking breath for my daily breadI depend on You, I depend on You For the sun to rise for my sleep at night I depend on You, I depend on YouYou’re the way the truth and the lifeYou’re the well that never runs dry I’m the branch and You are the vine Draw me close and teach me to abideSongwriters: Aaron Williams / Aaron Keyes / Jake FauberAbide lyrics © Integrity Worship Music, Pt.
