New Ground

Our cheer team broke new ground this past week as the first Trinity Christian squad in school history to perform in a competition when they competed at Game Day!

It’s scary to venture into new territory. It’s so much easier to think of many reasons we shouldn’t do something new and unfamiliar than to take a leap of faith and jump in. But because the team decided to be the first, it has paved the way for future Warrior cheerleaders. Coach Hailie and her athletes learned a lot from competing and will be able to pass on their knowledge and the confidence they gained to next year’s team.

Even better, the team had determined to shine the light of Jesus at the Game Day competition. They wrote Bible verses and encouraging words on decorated clothespins to share with people throughout the day. The team exemplified our yearly theme: They TRUSTED the Lord, acknowledged Him, and He directed them!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.  Proverbs 3:5-6

The cheerleaders aren’t the only ones desiring to shine for Jesus. Earlier today, a group of boys in a coding class talked about an app they wanted to create to help more people learn about the Bible and Jesus. Their enthusiasm was simultaneously contagious and convicting. As we teach our students and encourage them to break new ground, may we willingly learn from them, too!
