Thank-full

We are approaching the upcoming Thanksgiving week with hearts full of gratitude!

Today our students and their mentor buddies packed over 100 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child for our global annual service project. It was heartwarming to watch the older students assist the younger ones in carefully selecting presents for a child they may never meet. After packing the boxes, the students prayed for the recipients of the gifts. Please join us in praying those children’s lives will be touched by the Lord.

We are also excited for our drama team and Director Colton Daft! These talented students took second place overall with their performance of “Her Senior Year” at the West Virginia Theatre Association’s Winter Festival and have advanced to the South Eastern Theatre Conference! Individual awards went to Lydia Knight – Distinguished Performer; Rylan Sharp and Landon Murdock – All Festival Cast; Noah Toler and Bella Kelley – Honorable Mention for Music. What an amazing accomplishment for the first year after restarting the drama department! The students will perform the show for the home crowd tonight in the Chapel.

More than the accolades, the cast ended up praying with a student from another school in an unscripted moment that will not soon be forgotten.

Earlier this week, soccer players Mason Rodeheaver and Cora Friend and volleyball players Rylan Sharp and Arlie Humphreys played on their respective OVAC All-Star teams; and volleyball Coach Anna Witt took home Coach of the Year honors! Last night we had a great turnout for a Fall Open House and look forward to welcoming more students to the Warrior Family in the future.

These are just a few recent causes to give thanks as a school community; you’ll see more when you watch this week’s video. While it’s impossible to cover all the reasons for our gratitude in one blog post, we want you to know that we thank God for YOU: our students, families, faculty, staff, administration, board, supporters, and community. But more than anything we are grateful for Jesus who made a way for us to have fellowship with our heavenly Father!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”
