A tradition of honor

One of the special traditions we hold to at Trinity is our Veterans Day Program. Every year, as the result of hours of behind-the-scenes preparation, our school community welcomes local veterans and their families to be our honored guests. It’s our way of showing respect and gratitude for the men and women who have served our country.
The event is simultaneously heartwarming and heartwrenching. Fresh-faced students earnestly sing patriotic songs for the smiling veterans, some well-advanced in years. When images of servicemen and women are projected on the screen for a slideshow tribute, it’s clear we can never fully understand the sacrifices wrought. At one point in the program, members of each military branch rise to be recognized while the school band and choir perform their particular song. The air is with filled with pride and gratitude. Eyes brim with tears.
The program is our simple way of saying thanks. Thank you to all the men and women who have served. We hope to see you next year!
