Follow the Leader

Elementary students usually travel from place to place in a line. When they are really young, a teacher will lead from the front while another teacher carefully monitors the students from behind. It’s a beautiful depiction of the way God helps us stay on the path: He goes before us AND behind us. He cares for us today in the same way He promised He would do for the children of Israel.
“…for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” ~ Isaiah 52:12b
We’ve had all types of events this past week: A middle school social called the “Bondfire”, the first STEM club, chapels, exciting sports, and much more. But a common thread through all the activities is the importance of quality leaders—whether teachers, coaches, or chaperones—who encourage our students to follow Christ as the ultimate leader.
