Honoring our heroes

The focal point this week was our Veterans Day Celebration. Each year our school honors veterans with a special program. It is a time-honored tradition to express our appreciation for the men and women who have served or are serving in the armed forces. Our staff came up with a creative and safe way to modify the program due to COVID-19: They organized a Veterans Day Drive-Thru Celebration featuring banners, music, and hand-outs created by our students. During the celebration, veterans drove alongside the front of our building while students waved flags, handed out cards, and shouted “Thank you!” enthusiastically.
Just as these veterans have demonstrated service and sacrifice, we want to give our students opportunities to show gratitude and to serve others. It’s one more way we can fulfill our mission of educating them for life.
