Incubating
Posted on March 17, 2022
Recently, the kindergarten classes have been observing eggs in an incubator as they wait for them to hatch. The students’ excitement is palpable as they describe the stages of development and anticipate the arrival of the baby chicks. Not only are they learning the life cycle of a chicken, they are understanding how to be responsible for the unborn chicks that are dependent upon their care. What a life lesson!
In listening to the K-5 students talk about the activity, you can hear similarities between the incubator and our Christian school environment. Like the incubator, we want to provide our students with a safe environment and the tools they need to grow in all areas of their lives. We want to do our best to protect and nurture our students so they are prepared when they eventually launch into the world beyond graduation. While only God gives life and sustains it, we have the privilege of being a part of each child’s life in a special way. What an honor and responsibility.
As you watch this week’s blog video with images of our students in various stages of development, please pray they will become all that God has intended for them. Include a special prayer for our seniors as they prepare to “hatch” into the next phase of their lives.
If you think the work we do is important, please also consider supporting our Spring Gala: A Night of Transformation which benefits Tuition Assistance at TCS. It will be held on Friday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the school. We are changing things up this year by adding a fun competition to the event! Please watch the second video in this post to learn more. Tickets will go on sale this Monday, March 21 and sponsorships are available. For more information, call the school at 304-291-4659 or email Jeannine Kelley at jkelley@tcswv.org.
