Out of this world

This past Monday was out of this world! Although the Artemis I rocket remained grounded due to a scrubbed launch, our students’ imaginations soared as we held a Launch Party in honor of the scheduled launch. We started the day with kindergarten through 12th-grade students meeting in the gym to learn about the Artemis I mission from Marcus Fisher, Goddard Space Flight Center senior fellow and Artemis IVV Modeling and Test Lead who serves as an adjunct Computer Science teacher at TCS. They also had questions answered in a live stream with Paul Janes, an Electrical Engineer for Exploration at Ground Systems at the Kennedy Space Center.
After the assembly, students visited interactive stations where they created parachutes, did an unplugged coding activity, flew a drone with a computer, and more. What a wonderful day of STEM exploration for our students!
