Reading Through the Week
Posted on March 2, 2023
Dr. Seuss Week is an occasion to celebrate and cultivate a love for reading. This week the elementary kids were read to by guests, dressed in Seuss-themed outfits, and made fun crafts. The Seuss activities even spread to the high school hallway, where Mrs. Hutson read from The Sneetches to illustrate discrimination, which the class had been studying.
Lots more happened this week. Our high school girls won the sectional title and battled hard to make it to the State Tournament but fell just a few points short. We are very proud of their efforts. The high school boys will play in the sectional final at South Harrison tomorrow night, March 3, and hope to extend their season.
Our art students showcased their artwork and created new pieces when they traveled to Fairmont State University for Art and Design Day. Landon Murdock was recognized for his art and nominated for a scholarship!
It is a joy to see our dedicated staff pour into our students. From teachers to custodians and coaches to our front desk team, our students are well-loved!
