Roots & Wings

Spiritual Emphasis Week got off to a great start when the high school Praise Team hosted a Night of Worship on Monday evening. The theme for the event was Worship Through the Ages and the students led the crowd in worship songs ranging from hymns to contemporary favorites in an intimate time focused on worshiping our Savior Jesus. Guest speaker Daniel Strosnider touched on the overarching theme of the week, Roots & Wings. He reminded those present, especially the students, to stay rooted in Christ while pursuing God-given dreams. Abiding in Him through Christian disciplines—reading His Word, spending time with Him in prayer and worship, staying connected to a local church—enables and equips us to share His light and truth in a dark world.

Continuing with the Roots & Wings theme, secondary students are having daily chapels with guest speakers who are sharing their stories of how God has led them in their pursuits and how He is using them to share His Good News in their workplaces and communities. A special chapel is planned for the elementary students to end the week. Our students also dressed to daily themes this week, and to make it extra fun there are some surprises in store to treat the students on Friday!

We want to thank all those involved in making this year’s Spiritual Emphasis Week meaningful and memorable, especially the dynamic duo of Jason and Ashley White for their planning and coordination. Pray with us that spiritual seeds will be planted, watered, and produce lasting fruit in the lives of our students through the events of this week.

In other news, we want to congratulate Mia Stinoski for winning first place at the Regional Science Fair and advancing to States. We also want to congratulate Anna Lohmann and Rylan Sharp for being named to the All-Festival Cast at the Region II Thespian Festival over the weekend.

You can see the award-winning performance of “Her Senior Year” tomorrow night, February 21, in the TCS Chapel. The evening will start at 5:30 p.m. with Thespian Inductions. Seniors will be recognized at 6:20 p.m. and the show will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission is by donation and all proceeds will help the troupe travel to the Southeastern Theatre Conference next month.

Note: The worship music in this video was performed by the TCS Praise Team at the Night of Worship.
