Setting aside time

We’re nearing the end of Spiritual Emphasis Week—when we set aside time at school to delve a little deeper into the Word of God and grow in our relationship with Him.
All ages of students prayed for specific local and global needs at prayer stations, lifting petitions for students, families, churches, and more. They also had an opportunity to post personal prayers on a bulletin board as a way of sharing burdens with each other and the Lord.
Secondary students attended daily chapels, with peers leading worship and sometimes delivering the chapel message. For an age-appropriate activity, the elementary students had a VBS-style presentation and craft with a focus on Psalm 23.
Although the school has weekly chapels, Bible classes, and integrates God’s Word across disciplines, there is something very meaningful about setting aside extra time for Spiritual Emphasis Days. It’s been good. And, we have one more day to go!
