When it looked like our annual Hoop-A-Thon FUNdraiser couldn’t take place due to COVID-19 restrictions, we decided we had to find an alternative. The Hoop-A-Thon was too important of a tradition to let go, especially at this time when our students and families needed some normalcy and FUN! Plus, so many of our students had already collected support on Facebook and through pledges. We had to honor their commitment and come up with something!
That “something” became the Hoop-A-Thon at Home! For the Hoop-A-Thon at Home, we asked our Trinity families to submit photos or short videos of their child’s basketball or hula-hoop skills that we would’ve seen at the Hoop-A-Thon. If they wanted to join in the fun but didn’t have a basketball or hula-hoop, we encouraged them to be creative and do anything they wanted to do in honor of the Hoop-A-Thon.
And our families delivered! From everything to trick shots to obstacle courses to shooting arrows through a hoop, our kids displayed creativity and talent! Best of all, our students and families kept the tradition alive, bringing our Trinity family together in a special way during this time when we are unable to gather at the school.
