Stir up one another

Cross country can be a grueling sport. Runners navigate hills, rutted courses, rushing creeks, and extreme weather conditions with the hopes of beating their competitors and winning a prize.
Last week, a Warrior cross country runner found himself behind a struggling opponent. The boy, who wasn’t wearing spikes for the race, was continually slipping as he tried to climb the hill. It had to be frustrating. Instead of running by him, the Trinity runner put his hand on the back of his competitor so they could gain ground together.
No one would have blamed the Trinity runner if he pushed on past. But, instead, he chose to help, to encourage his fellow athlete who was struggling on the course that day.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works…” ~ Hebrews 10:24
Just like in a cross country race, life brings hills that seem too high to climb. May we remember the importance of encouraging one another to keep running the race, and do it all for the glory of God.
