Story Within a Story

The big story this past week was the Veterans Day Celebration. The annual event is a special Trinity Christian School tradition designed to honor local veterans for their service and sacrifice. After two years of holding a drive-thru event due to Covid-10 protocols, it was such a joy to once again welcome veterans into the building.
But while the story of this year’s Veterans Day was being told, another poignant substory was unfolding—that of a father and a son. While band director Mr. Henry was focused on guiding his musicians through a patriotic number, his son’s eyes were fixed solely on dad and mimicking his every move. Throughout the song, he directed an imaginary band from his place in the crowd.*
It was the sweetest moment and a good reminder that our children are watching us, even when we don’t realize it. What you do each day, the example you set, makes a difference. Let’s make every moment count!
