Surprise and delight
Posted on April 22, 2021
Were you ever delighted by an unexpected moment? The other day, one of our kindergarten students came into the office carefully carrying a baby chicken in his pocket. Staff gathered around taking in the simple joy of new life in the midst of a busy day.
During a year when activities have been canceled or altered, some of the things we may have taken for granted in the past seem sweeter than ever. Hearing our students laugh or sing, create or play sports, grasp academic content, or explore new concepts—these moments are especially valued this year. Our high school girls winning their sectional championship was extra special.
This past week, we also were surprised by a kind note and generous grant of $10,000 from the Stover Foundation. Not only has the foundation faithfully supported the school for many years, but they also come alongside us through prayer and encouragement.
Isn’t it amazing how God’s timing is always perfect? Whether it is a tiny chick in the hands of a gentle boy or a timely note from fellow Christian believers, He surprises and delights us day after day.
