United in Love

“My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:2-3 NIV
To be encouraged and united in love as Paul describes in this verse is a lofty goal. The only way we can achieve that level of love is through Christ. His love unites us in ways that transcend our natural abilities to bond.
This week we’ve seen His love on display in many ways as we watched students celebrating each other’s accomplishments and preparing thoughtful surprises for Valentine’s Day. Our staff felt loved and appreciated when the Staff Encouragement Committee hosted a Soup-er Bowl luncheon featuring a variety of soups, side dishes, and sweet treats. While the staff loved the delicious food and festive decor, the thoughtful intention and kindness behind the meal meant the most.
It’s funny how the love of God in our hearts has to be shared. And by sharing it, we all grow in our understanding and knowledge of Him. It’s a beautiful cycle that begins and ends with Jesus! Happy Valentine’s Day!
