A friend in me

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Good times are sweeter when shared with a friend. In the same way, when hard times come, a friend lends strength and comfort that is priceless. This week’s blog honors just a few moments of friendship in our school. Those caring interactions aren’t limited to peer relationships. Often times we witness teachers, administrators, and coaches lending support and compassion to our students beyond the scope of the classroom. For every picture, there are so many uncaptured moments that fleet by too quickly to photograph. Like when Mrs. Belt sat on the floor to help a student with a project. Or when the office staff takes extra time to comfort and attend to a sick child. Prayers are lifted, encouraging words shared, and hugs exchanged — all reminders that we need each other. We’re not meant to go this life alone.
In talking about friendship, we can’t forget the impact of families. You’ll love the first graders’ drawings of their family members!
As a school, we are also grateful for the friendships God has given to us through local pastors. We look forward to honoring some of them tomorrow for Pastor Appreciation Day. We also are filled with gratitude for local businesses who support us through our Corporate Sponsorship program. We couldn’t fulfill our mission and vision without these folks who partner with us!
