Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. ~ Ephesians 3:20-21
God always does abundantly more than we expect. It’s just who He is! So while it shouldn’t surprise us when He answers our prayers in a big way, sometimes it still does.
He surely surprised us this past weekend! Here’s the backstory: Last week we were praying to be able to resume on-campus learning and extra-curricular activities for ALL of our students, but the decision hinged upon the WV School Alert System’s Saturday Education Map. If Monongalia county transitioned to gold or, even better, yellow, we would be closer to achieving that goal. We were anticipating the answer to this prayer and decided to prepare a fun video to celebrate the color change! We even made two videos to prepare for the Education Map reveal—one for gold and one for yellow to assure we would be ready for either scenario. At 5 o’clock Saturday evening, when the Education Map was updated for the week, imagine our surprise that Monongalia county wasn’t gold OR yellow. Our county was GREEN, which was the best choice of all! We had to laugh at ourselves. We forgot that God can do more than we ask or think! Soon after the map was released, our team pulled together and scrambled to make this video to announce that our county had turned green.
Isn’t God amazing? He consistently goes above and beyond what we ask or think! Most of our students returned to campus this week, with some still choosing to learn remotely, and our student-athletes are competing. We continue to ask Him for protection, strength, and grace while we navigate the new rules and safety procedures for our return to campus. Here are a few highlights from an incredible week at our school.
