Launching the new year
Posted on August 24, 2017
What a way to launch a new school year! We started the week off by watching the historical solar eclipse on Monday, with students and staff taking turns wearing NASA-approved goggles to view the phenomenon. It was incredible – not only the event but also the way our older students, under faculty supervision, guided their younger counterparts to safely watch the moon partially block out the sun.
We also welcomed our Little Warrior preschoolers for their first week. Their arrival brought smiles to our faces, even if the “goodbyes” brought a few tears to the eyes of their moms and dads.
We had our first T-shirt Tuesday and it warmed our hearts to see new students wearing their “We Are Warrior” shirts. Some of our fall sports teams have started competing while others will be meeting opponents for the first time this weekend. We held the first chapels of the year. We welcomed a new school nurse. To sum it up: we have much to be thankful for as the first full week comes to a close.
