Nothin’ but net

Last night, the Trinity gym was electric with excitement. After an intense game, the Lady Warriors clinched the regional title and a trip to the State Basketball Tournament!
The basketball craziness typical of March started in February for Trinity. In the weeks leading up to last night’s victory, the boys’ and girls’ high school teams turned up the heat in post-season play. The boys were named OVAC Champs, the girls took sectionals, and the boys secured a spot in the sectional title game* by winning the semi-final against South Harrison.
It’s been a spirited week of bringing the students and faculty together to rally around our teams and our school. We’re having fun with daily themes for Spirit Week and classmates are working together to win the coveted spirit stick for their class. In keeping with the basketball theme, the annual Hoop-A-Thon schoolwide fundraiser is tomorrow, too!
Watching graduates, former players, and community members join our students and families to cheer on the current class of Warriors is sweet. So is seeing the elementary students watching intently as each Lady Warrior and coach climbed a ladder to cut a piece of the net in a ceremonious victory celebration. Are they dreaming of the day when they will do the same?
Being a family can be messy and hard. Coming together, working together for the good of the team is one of the ways we can build deeper relationships and make lasting memories. Even more, we want to work, play, win, lose, and love each other to the glory of God.
We are Warriors and we’re headed to STATES!
*The boys’ sectional final is Friday, March 2, at Notre Dame at 7 p.m.
So proud of this team! They will play Wheeling Central in Charleston on Thursday, March 8 at 1 p.m.
