Serve one another
Posted on August 31, 2017
If you didn’t know better, you may have been alarmed by the number of law enforcement vehicles on the Trinity campus yesterday. It was all part of the plan – a community service plan that included washing cars for local officers in appreciation for the work they do in the Morgantown area.
Community service is intrinsic to our identity as Trinity Warriors. Everybody gets involved from the elementary on up through high school. While individual classrooms take on different projects throughout the year, the school calendar has times allotted for school-wide service. Yesterday was the first designated community service day of the 2017-18 school year. Students were active on and off-campus in a variety of outreaches.
We directed through Galatians 5:13b to “serve one another humbly in love.” (NIV) Encouraging our students to love our community through service is just one way that we educate for life.
In addition to the car wash, students served at Calvary Chapel, made cards and gifts to encourage others, prepared meals for the Bartlett House, and more.
