Ties that bind

Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.
~ from “Blest be the Ties That Bind” by John Fawcett
It’s amazing how God can tie hearts together! Through sharing His love and His Word, we can create bonds with each other that endure the challenges of life. It was such a pleasure to show our appreciation for several local pastors at Pastor Appreciation Day. We are grateful for all of the local churches who come alongside our families and school.
We also strive to provide opportunities for our students to create bonds with each other through programs like Mentor Monday. It’s great to see our buddy classes doing fun or educational activities together. Our older students may never know the impact they have on their little buddies.
Speaking of impact, our eighth-grade girls’ Bible class talked about not comparing yourself with others in the Secondary Chapel. We’re so proud of them for taking the initiative to share their hearts with the message and with music.

Our teams scored some major victories this week! To start things off, eighth-grader Zach Workman became the Mason-Dixon Cross Country Champion! Teammates Jenna Barnett took seventh place, Adelyn Tager placed eighth, and Bethay Byrne placed fourteenth to round out a strong showing for the Warriors.
Last night, our middle school volleyball team beat St. Francis in two sets to win the Mason Dixon Tournament! The middle school boys football team continued their undefeated season with a 33 to 14 win against Phillipi Middle! Topping off the night, the soccer team upset #1 Weir to advance to the sectional final on Saturday!
