Trinity Christian School had a strong showing at the Regional Social Studies Fair held in Fairmont at the Hershel “Woody” Williams Armed Forces Reserve Center on March 18. Thirty-one Trinity students, representing grades 6 through 12, competed in 9 categories ranging from Anthropology to World History. Students could compete as individuals or in small groups numbering from two to five students.
Belen Turak, Abby Goff, and Elizabeth Satterfield received individual first place distinctions and advanced to the State Fair to be held on April 15 at the Charleston Civic Center.
The small groups of Sam Emery and Jackson Miller, Sarah Seitz and Zeriel Wong, Mark Spruill and Caleb Rice, and Eden Kinkade and Rachel Rosen were awarded second place finishes for their projects.
Claire Baker and Lauren Bowlin received third place honors as individuals. The small groups of Gracie Emery and Megan Olfert, Jac Smith and Katie White, Zack Murray and Brady Mudry, Reagan Sharp and Kate Dlugos, and Sophia Kenney and Hannah Keyser also placed third.
This was the first year in school history that students from Trinity competed in the RESA 7 regional fair which encompassed 12 counties. To qualify, one winner per category per division (middle and high school) was selected from the in-house fair.
