Be a light
Posted on February 27, 2020
We started this year encouraging our students that God wants them to be lights in a dark world (Matthew 5:14-16). However, you can’t light your world without first being ignited yourself. So we have woven this theme into lessons and Chapel times, praying that our students will catch hold of God’s calling for them and what that looks like in their everyday lives. What does it look like in the classroom, at home, with friends, on the field, court, or stage? How can they be a light?
This Monday, our secondary students delved a little deeper into spiritual topics for Spiritual Emphasis Day. The event included special speakers, times of worship and prayer, and small group break-outs. Our middle school students also had some fun time together in the gym. Taking time out of the normal routine to make space to focus exclusively on God is one of those privileges we have as a school and not one we take for granted.
