We started the 2019-2020 school year with the annual theme of “Be a Light”. Based on the scripture from Matthew 5:14-16, we challenged ourselves as a staff as well as our students to shine the light of Jesus in all areas of our lives. Little did we know what circumstances awaited us at the end of this year.
Yet God has been so faithful to give us His strength, hope, and joy to end out the school year! We have found many ways to celebrate our students’ achievements, encourage them in their gifts, and use their creativity to shine for Him. We have kept as many of our treasured traditions as possible—even if they looked a little different this year—to maintain our school’s unique and caring culture. We are so grateful for His light and life shining on and through our special school on this West Virginia hill!
